As Nigerians celebrate 56 years of Independence on October 1, 2016 from Colonial rule, the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has congratulated the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, good people of Imo State and Nigerians for yet another historic celebration.
Prince Madumere’s independence message was contained in a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa and made available to DAYLIGHT.NG
Imo Deputy Governor congratulated Governor Okorocha for his effort in recreating Imo to a modern and model State through his monumental feat in the area of road and infrastructural development. He also commended Governor Okorocha for his effort in empowering every family in Imo State through his free and qualitative education policy, which has giving hope to poor families and the State in general.
The number two citizen of Imo State also extolled Governor Okorocha for his effort at restructuring Imo to becoming a diversified economy especially in the area of Agriculture and agribusiness through his back to land policy.
In the same vein, commended the good people of Imo State for their resilience and industry in times of challenges like the present one, which he attributed to the crash of crude oil prices at the international market and the failure of the past leaders to save for the rainy day.
He therefore urged them to continue to support Governor Okorocha in his bid to to restructure Imo into a tourist and food basket of the nation through his urban renewal efforts and other policies that are geared towards achieving a sustainable economy with food sufficiency and security.
He therefore called on all and sundry to keep hope alive as the present Government joining strategies with President Buhari led Federal government will surely steer Nigeria to appreciable height. He hailed President Buhari for his focus and his appreciable resolve with sincerity of purpose to build a new Nigeria.
He however called for all hands to be on deck to contributing towards making Nigeria great while insisting that the country can do much better when patriotism and spirit of brotherhood prevails over ethnicism, religious intolerance and corruption.
